A security door in Toronto will soon be getting a new look, with security doors that can be installed in transit stations.
The TTC has approved the construction of a $40,000 sticker for the new security doors.
The design will be on display at the TTC Transit Museum in downtown Toronto on April 20.
The sticker will come with instructions for installing the doors.
“The doors are designed to be retractable, which means the doors can be easily removed,” said TTC spokesperson John Aylward.
“Once installed, the doors will allow people to walk or ride on the subway without having to open and close the door every time.”
There are no official timelines on when these doors will be installed or when they will be available for use in the city.
The TTC also has plans for a new security door system that is also being built.
“In the near future, we will begin implementing a more secure, accessible, and reliable system that will enable the transit service to operate in a more responsible and safe manner,” Aylright said.
