Two people have died after a man was shot inside a house in the Uptown section of Houston, according to deputies.
The incident was reported about 2:20 a.m.
Investigators said the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not immediately release the names of the victims.
A fourth person who was inside the home was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation showed that the shooting occurred inside a home on West Main Street, just north of Main Street and West Main Avenue, according.
The house is about 2,400 square feet.
A witness told KHOU that the incident began with a fight inside the house, where the shooter fired at a man who tried to break the glass.
The witness said the victim, who was armed with a gun, went outside the house and then returned to the home, where he fired a single shot.
The victim was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
A neighbor who lives in the same house told KHON2 that he heard a loud bang and then saw the victims inside the residence.
He said the two victims died in the house.
The man’s name was not released.
No motive was immediately known for the shooting.
